Frequently Asked Questions regarding monetary donations to St. Vincent de Paul.
Where does my monetary donation go?
100% of your donation goes exactly where you specify on your check or letter. If not specified, we put your donation where it is
needed most, either for the purchase of food for our pantry or to provide financial assistance to friends in need (housing, utilities,
etc.) Donations are not used for salaries or overhead expenses.
How do I donate?
You can mail or drop off a donation to any of the St. Vincent de Paul Conferences or Stores or mail it to Diocesan Council of Marquette, 2119 Presque Isle Avenue. Room 101, Marquette, MI 49855. Please specify to which St. Vincent de Paul District or Conference you would like your donation sent and the Diocesan Council staff will forward the donation to them.
Do I have to donate cash?
No, you can leave an amount in your will as a legacy, donate stocks and bonds, designate a donation to United Way for St.
Vincent de Paul, or send a donation to the local food bank as a credit in our name for food.
Does my donation stay local?
Yes, wherever you intend the donation to be is where it will stay. Donations can also be made to SVDP for national or international disaster appeals with 100% of the funds going to disaster relief. The donor decides how and where they want their donation spent.
